Lovely Vintage Cameo, Celluloid Hand Carved Cameo, Classic Vintage Jewelry

This is beautiful vintage cameo was carved in celluloid, probably during the 1920's or 1930's. The female profile is done in the classic style, imitating the Greek and Roman cameos of ancient times.

The open back setting of this vintage cameo looks like pot metal with a gold tone finish. Tool marks are visible on the cameo figure as are the irregularities of hand carving. The vintage cameo looks to have been carved from a molded celluloid base.

This vintage cameo is in Excellent Condition, the gold finish is worn in several places on the setting; the inside of the loop for the chain and some spots on the back, from the front these areas are not visible.

This vintage cameo is 2" high, 1 1/2" wide; with the loop the pendant is just under 2 1/2" high.
