This is a cute pair of duck-themed trinket boxes. Cast in pewter or similar soft metal, the eyes, feet wings, tail feathers and base are overlaid in brass. They look almost identical but on close inspection, one is slightly larger than the other and the feet are slightly different. They are in good vintage condition, one has a little crimping around the rim of the bowl that is not visible when the box is closed, the other has a little spotting of the metal below one of the wings that does not detract from the visual appeal (see the photos).
I'm guesstimating they were made in the 1960s or 1970s, based on overall appearance and the time period that Hong Kong was a major producer of trinkets and decor.
I'm leaving them unpolished for their prospective adopter to decide whether they look better with some patina or shined up!
