This is one of my favorite styles!

A gorgeous piece of rainbow ammolite surrounded by a glittering halo of white cubic zirconias. The halo sparkles like crazy!!

Ammolite has a characteristic called chromatic shift, which means that the colors are different depending on what angle you are viewing them from. This particular piece has a full rainbow of vivid colors! The pattern in the gemstone reminds me of a peacock feather, with gorgeous blues and teals as well as yellow and red spots.

This piece of ammolite is AA grade, which means it shows 3 or more colors brilliantly from all angles. This is the highest quality of ammolite available.

This sterling silver ring is size 7 and ready to ship. If you need a different size, please contact me for options.

**** What is Ammolite? ****

The ammolite gemstone is actually the shell of the ammonite fossil, a sea creature which looks similar to the nautilus snail, but can be much much bigger! Ammonites lived in the Cretaceous period, around 65 million years ago! This gemstone was mined in Southern Alberta, Canada. It is a fossil with a rich history and will make a wonderful conversation piece!

**** What is a triplet? ****

A triplet is a gemstone that has a backing and a cap to protect the fragile gemstone, and is commonly done with opals. Ammolite gem material is incredibly thin (less than 1mm, remember it is a shell!) so there has been a sheet of rock bonded to the back, and a clear spinel cap on the top. Spinel has a hardness comparable to sapphire, which will protect your ammolite from daily wear.
