Once I found a box turtle on the backyard. I brought it home and let it walk on the floor. As soon as it opened up, the turtle moved directly to the glass sliding door. It never looked around for it did not have any intentions to stay. Passing the shelves of heavy art books, the wild thing gave them a superior glance. By its "face expression" I could only guess what the turtle was thinking of our books, our culture, our civilization, perhaps...

TURTLE IN A LIBRARY linocut is an original hand pulled print (from a limited edition of 50 which is almost sold out - very few copies left). Designed, cut, and printed by me, Natalia Moroz. Titled, numbered and signed in pencil. Dated 2003.

The image area is 8"x10" and the paper size is 11" by 14". Printed on acid-free white paper with oil based printing ink - all materials are permanent and archival. To create a linocut print, I cut a linoleum block by hand, then ink it and printed individually, so every linocut in the edition is slightly different. Directly from my art studio, the print is in mint condition.
