Lokta paper (handmade in Nepal).
100 lb text weight cream color paper (archival, 30% recycled, made with wind power).
Nine inches of linen bookbinding thread.

This set of three tiny little blank books would be splendid for a tiny artist or writer. Of course it could also be a treasure trove of secret notes, or the perfect pages for writing that teeny faerie novel you've always dreamed of writing. It makes a beautiful very-mini-art journal, as well.

The covers have my original miniature art prints on lush Lokta paper. And the text paper is thick 100 lb text weight cream color, hand-cut or hand-torn by me. Blue or purple bookbinding thread was used for the pamphlet stitching that binds these fantastic little books together.

***I will not be taking custom orders from Sept 2017 - April 2018 while attending CCS MFA program. I'll resume custom orders at the end of April 2018, but feel free to contact me before to discuss your project.***

I love making custom hand-bound books! They make wonderful gifts, and most books are perfect to use as guest books, scrapbooks, sketchbooks, and journals. Customize the cover art, cover paper, page paper, or even provide your own vintage cover.

Turn around time for custom work is between 1 and 3 weeks, plus shipping time.
Most items are mailed wrapped in kraft paper, tied with raffia, ribbon, or hemp, with a gift tag. If you require something more, please let me know and I'll work with you to make it happen.
All items are one of a kind and made in a smoke-free / pet-free home with my own two hands, right here in the Green Mountains of Vermont.

The one exception are greeting cards and postcards which are reproductions of my original work, and are printed by me in my studio.
What kind of pen should I use for my book?

The weight and light tooth of the page paper makes it suitable for pencil and ink. Sharpies are discouraged - their acidic chemicals shorten the life of your book, and they often seep through paper.

A regular ballpoint pen is okay in a pinch, however I recommend an archival / ph neutral pen (Micron or Faber-Castell are two great and readily available brands). The inks in these pens are meant to last. They write softly and do not create indents in the pages like ballpoint. You can find many color choices at your local crafts or art supply store, or online.

For black pages, I recommend gel pens or white charcoal.
