What is Etsy: Made in Canada?

Good question! Etsy: Made in Canada is a national grassroots initiative celebrating the crafters, collectors and artisans in local communities across Canada. From coast to coast, Canadian cities and towns will be participating in this one-day event on September 26, marking the event’s second year. In 34 cities, Etsy artisans will sell their handmade wares and vintage goods to local buyers at these markets, each of which will represent the spirit of the local community.

How much does Etsy: Made in Canada cost to attend?

The Etsy markets across Canada are free to attend!

How do I get a ticket to the show?

As the show is free to attend, you do not need a ticket!

Do I have to be an Etsy member to shop at an Etsy: Made in Canada marketplace?

Etsy: Made in Canada is a community-led initiative run by Etsy Sellers and supported by Etsy. Each participating city is run by a group of dedicated Etsy Team Members who applied to host an Etsy: Made in Canada market. If there isn’t a market in your hometown and you’d like to host one next year, let us know by filling out this form!

What is an Etsy Team?

Teams is a community feature on Etsy where you connect with other members. You can use Team Forums to share information about running a business in your area, get advice from experienced members, or gather with peers to socialize and plan events. I can't attend a marketplace. How can I shop from the participating sellers?

You can shop from Etsy: Made in Canada vendors from across the country on this page and all year round on Etsy.com.

Is everything at Etsy: Made in Canada marketplace handmade?

Etsy: Made in Canada permits the same three categories allowed on Etsy.com. These include handmade goods, vintage items, and supplies. Learn more about these three categories.

How many Etsy sellers participate in this event?

Last year, nearly 1,200 Etsy sellers participated in Etsy: Made in Canada markets! This year, we expect that number to double!

How do I become a volunteer?

If you’re interested in lending a hand, contact the Team in charge of your city’s market for specifics. Click on your city above to visit the Team’s page.

Vendors

How do I become a vendor?

All vendors for Etsy: Made in Canada need to have an active Etsy shop before applying. To open a shop, go to etsy.com/promotions and use the code "MADEINCANADA" to get your first 20 listings free. Every market has a unique vendor application form which will be reviewed by the organizing team in charge of your city’s market. If you’re having trouble finding out how to apply to the appropriate team directly, please leave your contact details with us so we can connect you to the right person / application.

How are vendors selected?

Vendors will be selected through a jury of team members in your city.

When is the deadline for vendor applications?

The deadline to apply to sell at Etsy: Made in Canada is June 21st, 2015. *Some teams may offer exceptions. However, Etsy is not able to forward your information to the team in your city after June 21, 2015.

How much does it cost to be a vendor at an Etsy: Made in Canada market?

Vendor fees will differ for markets in different locations due to factors like venue cost and market size. Please contact your local organizing team directly for more information and to formally apply.
