Our work

WHAT I CAN DO: Laser cutter for hire! I will take your designs (or help create them) and use the power of my 90 watt laser cutter to make precise cutouts or engravings in the material of your choice (ex. wood, leather, paper, acrylic). I specialize in jewelry, party favors, home decor items, prototype parts & templates.

SAMPLES: I will usually create a mockup of the item for your review and approval, and send you a photo, or in some cases, mail you the actual sample. I do charge a small fee for samples, and will communicate this cost upfront beforehand.

PRICING: Once we're on the same page about the design, I'll share pricing information with you. The things I factor into my pricing include material cost, complexity of the design, and actual time to produce it (specifically laser cutter time due to the high operation cost).

TIME FRAME: Upon approval of the design, mockup and pricing, we will determine a time frame for production. Unless your order uses materials I happen to have in stock, I will almost always have to order your materials, and this may add to the overall schedule. Production (after material arrives) typically takes 1-2 weeks. Rush orders may be possible.

PAYMENT: Because I'm purchasing materials and cutting pieces just for you, I do ask for full payment upfront.

Payment terms

I always ask for payment upfront because I'm ordering materials and cutting pieces just for you. Shipping costs will be additional. I will not begin production work until payment is received (preferably via Paypal). Once payment arrives and I have begun work, I'm afraid I can't allow any cancellations or refunds.

Minimum order

1–25 units
The work we make during our partnership is a process, and I completely understand that you may not be ready to commit to a high quantity just yet. My minimum order is 10 items, regardless of the price per item. For higher quantities, I may be able to offer price breaks depending on the item and material.

Shipping & handling

Unless otherwise requested, I ship Priority Mail through the US Postal Service, which comes with tracking and typically arrives in 2-5 days anywhere in the USA. For orders $100 and above, I add insurance accordingly.

Estimated production time

Once payment comes through, and material has been acquired, I can produce your order within 1-2 weeks.

Returns, damages, repairs

I will insure your order to account for any damaged that may occur during shipping.

Because we will go through many stages of mockups, reviews, and approvals prior to final manufacturing, I'm afraid I cannot offer a refund if you are unsatisfied with the final product.

Other details

I take pride in the work that comes out of my studio, and I enjoy collaborating with artists, designers, inventors, and dreamers. I look forward to teaming up with you, and hope I can be of service for your laser cutting needs!

Our story

I'm Sarah Mandell, the brains & busy hands behind Once Again Sam. I design and make jewelry in my home studio using a combination of basic hand tools and high tech equipment. I find this to be the perfect balance, a new kind of modern handmade, and my business has thrived thanks to this mix of methods & technologies. Some of the pieces in my line are one-of-a-kinds, but the most popular items are ones I manufacture in high quantities. Everything is made by me in my Greenville, SC studio.

I have two laser cutters, the biggest is a large 90 watt machine that can cut through thin materials such as wood, paper, acrylic, and leather. I believe the equipment I use is not unlike the sewing machine at the turn of the century. Harnessing the power of something that can do a better job than I can on my own means I'm able to offer a much higher quality product, produce more to meet demand, and keep my prices very approachable.

I take commissions regularly and currently produce designs for a wide range of customers. Some hire me to manufacture a small part for them to incorporate into their own designs, others hire me to do the majority of the work using the equipment I have available, and I'm open to any and all needs.

So tell me, what can I make for you? How can I help you create that thing you've been toying with, sketching, daydreaming about?
