An Irish hero! Tom Crean explored the Antarctic. Among other accomlishments he rowed 800nautical miles in a small boat to help save his stranded crewmates on an island in the Antarctic. He lived from 1877 to 1938. This great mug also contains a quote by Ernest Shackleton about Crean's singing during tough times.

Deborah thank you for your feedback! I have been fascinated by the Shackleton Antarctic Expedition for years and have painted a number of scenes from that event. This portrait of Crean is a watercolor painting I made.
