My nan taught me to crochet when I was younger. Many years later after becoming a full time mum I wanted something to stimulate the old senses again and decided I needed a hobby!
While clearing out my things from my Mum's attic (which was long over-due) I came across my old crochet hooks. As soon I picked them up and looked at the little granny squares my young hands had attempted, the passion for crochet returned.
I started by crocheting jewellery. After many compliments from my friends I thought 'Hey,maybe I could sell my makings!' Hence, Creative Cuckoo was born. The Cuckoo is a British bird like me, its quirky and I'm creative.
I take inspiration from anywhere. I especially love working with different colours to represent a theme or mood. I make gifts and home decor items with a modern edge and a quirky feel.
I also make hand embroidered personalised gift tags. These are made from felt and are hand embroidered with message from you, in a colour of your choice. Add these to any of my designs and give someone that extra special gift.
