Eva Cassis is a Sydney based ethical fashion label with a ‘slow and humble’ philosophy. I launched my namesake label in 2012, with a desire to create sustainable, considered and timeless garments and jewellery - separating my label from the fast fashion market and throwaway consumer culture that is threatening our world today. I design and develop each Eva Cassis creation in my Sydney studio and they are produced locally by expert makers that I have worked with since I started my label in 2012. Each design is made from the highest quality, ethically sourced materials and luxury natural fibres, from luxurious linens to GOTS certified cotton & recycled wood & coke bottles in my eco jewellery. Passionate about designing things that I want to wear myself, my focus is on quality craftsmanship and a minimalist design aesthetic – producing creations that women fall in love with for their luxury, reliability and beauty. All too aware of the wastage, pollution and social injustices rife in the fashion industry, my mission is to tick all the boxes for sustainability in design. I am a strong advocate for the Fashion Revolution Campaign, encouraging full transparency of my processes. I have adopted an open studio policy that welcomes customers into my workspace to see where the magic happens. My Marrickville based studio effectively implements systems that ensure there is minimum waste with the aim of leaving a marginal environmental footprint by up-cycling, reusing offcuts and collaborating with other ethical creatives wherever possible. All Eva Cassis employees and collaborators are fairly paid and fairly treated in accordance with global ethical standards. Above all, the Eva Cassis label is fighting the good fight for a fashion world that is kinder to the Earth, and its people.
