I'm an illustrator and game maker living rurally. In-person life drawing was never really an option for me — too remote, too far from anywhere with a regular session.
Then lockdown happened and everything moved online. A friend posted on Facebook that he was doing Zoom life drawing sessions. I jumped on and never really stopped.
Every week I draw from life. Sometimes it's an organised session with artists and models from all over the world. Sometimes it's one to one. There's always a theme, often music, always that feeling at the end where my brain has gone quiet and something that didn't exist before does now.
I draw on an iPad. Procreate. Taught myself during lockdown. I'm not precious about any of it.
Each week I choose one drawing and make it available as a signed giclée print — Hahnemühle Photo Rag, hand signed, shipped worldwide, something extra in the envelope. One week only. After that it's gone.
