This Is My Becoming 🧡
Hi, I’m Debbie 🧡
My journey hasn’t been a straight line—and for a long time, I thought that meant I was doing something wrong.
I used to believe my story was mostly about food and weight loss. While that has been part of my life, I’ve come to understand that it’s only one piece of a much bigger picture. I am also a recovering alcoholic and a recovering gambler, and those experiences have shaped me in ways I’m still learning to understand.
There have been chapters of my life that felt messy, overwhelming, and hard to face. For a long time, I wanted to fix them, hide them, or move past them as quickly as possible. But over time,
I’ve learned something different—that those moments hold meaning, lessons, and opportunities for growth if I’m willing to look at them with honesty and compassion.
I don’t believe our past defines us. I believe it can teach us.
That shift in perspective changed everything for me.
Writing became one of the ways I started to process my life differently. Instead of judging where I had been, I began asking myself what I could learn, how I could grow, and who I wanted to become moving forward.
In May of 2025, my husband Kevin and I made a life-changing decision to leave New Hampshire and move 2,763 miles across the country to Arizona in search of adventure. What we found here was more than just a change of scenery—it became a season of healing, reflection, and deeper understanding.
For the first time, I truly feel like I am exactly where I’m meant to be.
Today, I continue to grow, learn, and evolve. I am also working toward publishing my book, The Road to Becoming Me, where I share more of my story and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
The journals you’ll find here were created from that journey. They are not about perfection—they are about showing up, being honest, and giving yourself space to reflect and grow.
If you are in your own season of becoming, I want you to know—you are not alone.
I’m so glad you’re here. 🧡
