A Mother's Inspiration to Create
Il 13 novembre 2019 ho messo al mondo la mia preziosa figlia, Genevieve, e da allora la vita non è più stata la stessa. Ero un'insegnante e sono stato in grado di prendere un congedo medico per stare a casa con lei per 6 settimane. Sapevo che tornare al lavoro sarebbe stata una delle cose più difficili che abbia mai dovuto fare, ma con un mutuo di $ 2.000 al mese non avevo un'opzione. Così sono tornata al lavoro dopo le vacanze di Natale a gennaio e ho trascorso circa 2 mesi lontano dal mio bambino Gen. In quel periodo io e mio marito abbiamo preso la decisione di vendere la casa dei nostri sogni e trasferirci con i miei genitori per risparmiare per un altro acconto per acquistare una casa più conveniente. Tutto questo con la speranza di poter rimanere a casa con Genevieve. Lei è la mia ispirazione, la mia gioia, il mio più grande successo. È anche adorabile ed esilarante; cos'altro vorrei fare con il mio tempo??
Poi, è successo il virus corona. Hanno chiuso la nostra scuola e siamo andati a casa dei miei genitori. Anche se questo è stato difficile, ho recuperato il mio tempo con Genevieve; tempo prezioso che non avrei avuto altrimenti. Dopo esserci seduti con mio marito e aver elaborato le nostre finanze, ci siamo subito resi conto di quanto sarebbe stato difficile sopravvivere con un solo reddito. Anche lui è un insegnante, e sai come gli insegnanti vengono pagati. Così ho iniziato a passare le mie ore di blocco a fare brainstorming su come potevo stare a casa con Gen e portare un po 'di soldi a casa.
Questo ci porta qui; Grafica di Genevieve. Ho sempre amato il design. La mia laurea è strettamente correlata e il mio primo lavoro fuori dal college è stato in un negozio di insegne che progettava. Il mio obiettivo con questo negozio non è quello di diventare ricco. Voglio solo sostenere il mio stile di vita da mamma a casa e divertirmi un po 'nel processo.

On November 13th, 2019 I brought my precious daughter, Genevieve, into the world and life hasn't been the same since. I was a teacher and was able to take medical leave to be home with her for 6 weeks. I knew going back to work would be one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, but with a $2,000 a month mortgage I didn't have an option. So I went back to work after Christmas break in January and spent about 2 months away from my baby Gen. In that time my husband and I made the decision to sell our dream home and move in with my parents to save up for another down payment to purchase a more affordable home. All of this with the hopes I would be able to stay home with Genevieve. She is my inspiration, my joy, my greatest accomplishment. She is also freaking adorable and hilarious; what else would I want to do with my time??
Then, corona virus happened. They closed our school and we went on lock down at my parents' house. Though this was difficult, I got my time back with Genevieve; precious time I would not have had otherwise. After sitting down with my husband and working out our finances we quickly realized how difficult it would be to survive on one income. He is a teacher too, and you know how teachers get paid. So I began to spend my lockdown hours brainstorming about how I could stay home with Gen and bring in a little money to the house.
That brings us here; Graphics by Genevieve. I have always loved design. My bachelor's degree is closely related and my first job out of college was at a sign shop designing. My goal with this shop is not to become rich. I just want to support my stay at home mom lifestyle and have a little fun in the process.
