How did Bits of Blue Co come to be?
En agosto de 2019, mi esposo y yo compramos un láser GlowForge y comenzamos un pequeño negocio de láser local con la ayuda de mi madre. Vendimos en muchas ferias de artesanía durante el otoño y la temporada navideña. Luego, nos invitaron a vender en una tienda local y en una página de Facebook con más de 200.000 seguidores. El negocio fue excelente durante la pandemia y nos mantuvimos ocupados enviando pedidos a todo Estados Unidos. Unos años más tarde, mi esposo falleció y poco a poco estoy cambiando el nombre del negocio mientras trabajo a tiempo completo y cuido a nuestro hijo. ¡Acabamos de actualizar a un láser más grande y potente y estamos emocionados por los nuevos artículos que vendrán!
Elegí el nombre Bits of Blue Co porque el azul es mi color favorito. BOB (abreviatura de Bits of Blue) también era el nombre de mi padre. En el logotipo se muestra un pájaro, ya que los pájaros eran lo favorito de mi abuela. Toda mi familia es astuta, pero siento que mi abuela marca el camino para el resto de nosotros. Tengo buenos recuerdos de ella en su cuarto de costura haciendo mantas para la familia o ropa para sus gansos.
Back in August of 2019, my husband and I purchased a GlowForge laser and began a small laser business locally along with help from my mother. We sold at many craft shows during the fall and holiday season. Then, we were invited to sell in a local store and on a Facebook page with over 200,000 followers. Business was great during the pandemic and we stayed busy shipping orders all across the US. Fast forward a few years later, my husband passed away and I am slowly rebranding the business while working full time and taking care of our son. We just upgraded to a larger, more powerful laser and are excited for new items to come!
I chose the name Bits of Blue Co because blue is my favorite color. BOB (short for Bits of Blue) was also my father's name. A bird is shown in the logo as birds were my grandmother's favorite thing. My entire family is crafty, but I feel like my grandmother lead the way for the rest of us. I have fond memories of her being in her sewing room making blankets for the family or clothing for her geese.
