Willkommen in meinem Shop mit originalen, handgedruckten Bildern auf Papier und Aquarellen. Ich bin eine kanadische Künstlerin aus dem Nordwesten Ontarios und konzentriere mich in meinen Arbeiten auf Studien, die meine Liebe zur Natur widerspiegeln. Viele meiner Werke sind kleinformatig und zählen zu den Miniaturen. Betrachten Sie die Bilder als intime Gespräche, die darauf warten, geführt zu werden.

Künstler-Statement

Meine Wahrnehmung der physischen Welt und meine Reaktion darauf bilden die Grundlage meiner Kunst, die ich durch Zeichnen, Malen, Schnitzen und Drucken auf Papier interpretiere. Durch Analyse und sorgfältige Beobachtung erforsche ich das feine Zusammenspiel von Struktur, Form, Farbe, Schatten und Licht in der Komposition.

Landschaft und Natur sind die Hauptthemen meiner Arbeit.
Durch meine Zeit in nördlichen Wildnisgebieten habe ich eine starke persönliche Beziehung zu diesem Land entwickelt. Die Wildnis, die mich umgibt, beherbergt eine erstaunliche Artenvielfalt. Ich habe mich entschieden, die Zusammenhänge zwischen Landschaft, Lebewesen und den Elementen zu veranschaulichen. Diese Studien dienen als Archiv für die fortschreitende Veränderung dieser Lebensräume und Ökosysteme.

Als Ausgangsmaterial dienen mir Skizzen und Fotografien. Diese werden in verschiedenen künstlerischen Disziplinen umgesetzt. Die Bildentwicklung erfordert Zeit, und unabhängig von der verwendeten Disziplin stellt jede neue Herausforderung dar, die mich zum Nachdenken und Lernen zwingt, um meine Fähigkeiten im jeweiligen Medium zu erweitern. Ich verwende verschiedene Techniken, darunter Siebdruck, Reliefdruck, plattenbasierter Tiefdruck und Collagrafie. Im Atelier setze ich außerdem traditionelle Handdruckverfahren mit modernen, ungiftigen Materialien ein.

Ich bin davon überzeugt, dass ich ein Gast in der Wildnis bin und dass es nicht meine Absicht ist, das empfindliche Gleichgewicht der Natur zu stören, sondern meine Beobachtungen und Erfahrungen durch meine Kunstwerke weiterzugeben.

Welcome to my shop that features original hand printed images on paper and watercolour paintings. I am a Canadian visual artist from Northwestern Ontario and the focus of my work are studies that reflect my love of the natural world around me. Many of the works are small in size and fit within the classification of miniature. Consider the imagery to be intimate conversations waiting to happen.

Artist Statement

My perception of the physical world and response to it is the basis of my art, interpreted through drawing, painting, carving & printing onto paper. Through analysis and careful observation I explore the delicate interplay existing between structure, form, colour, shadow and light in the composition.

Landscape and the natural world are the main themes explored in my work.
Time spent in northern wilderness areas through my life has established a strong personal relationship to the land. The wilderness region surrounding me contains an amazing array of biodiversity. I've chosen to illustrate interconnections that exists between landscape, living things and the elements. These studies serve as an archive as forces of change proceed to alter these habitats and ecosystems.

Source material is acquired from sketches and photographs I take. These are translated via a variety of artistic disciplines. Time is spent developing the image and no matter the discipline employed, each presents a set of challenges forcing me to think and learn from, to expand my levels of skill with that medium. I use various techniques that include serigraphy. relief block, plate-based intaglio, and collagraph. I also implement traditional hand printing methods with current non-toxic materials in the studio.

My belief is that I am a guest in the wilderness and it is not my intention to disturb the delicate balance established by nature, but to relay my observations and experiences through my artwork.
