Bunkaari – Dos hermanas, un hilo de sencillez
Bunkaari está dirigido por dos hermanas: yo me encargo de las ventas y de contar historias, y Srishti, mi hermana, es la genio discreta detrás de los diseños.
No empezamos como emprendedoras de la moda. Simplemente extrañábamos el encanto de esos antiguos vestidos de algodón, faldas estampadas y palazzos amplios que nuestras madres usaban sin esfuerzo: prendas suaves, que duraban años y que nunca requerían un segundo cuidado.
Mientras yo me obsesiono con los clientes, los subtítulos y encontrar las palabras adecuadas, Srishti pasa sus días con las telas, el otoño y los ajustes.
Bunkaari no se trata de lujo. Se trata de recuperar la ropa sencilla y cotidiana que las mujeres indias usaban y amaban. Nuestras prendas son frescas, prácticas y con estampados familiares. Ya sea un pantalón palazzo, un vestido de verano o una falda clásica de algodón, es el tipo de ropa que te permite sentirte cómoda y fresca.
No estamos aquí para reinventar la moda. Solo para que te sientas como en casa otra vez.
Bunkaari – Two Sisters, One Thread of Simplicity
Bunkaari is run by two sisters — I handle the selling and storytelling, and Srishti, my sister, is the quiet genius behind the designs.
We didn’t start out as fashion entrepreneurs. We simply missed the charm of those old cotton dresses, printed skirts, and roomy palazzos our moms wore without effort — clothes that felt soft, lasted years, and never needed a second thought.
While I obsess over customers, captions, and finding the right words, Srishti spends her days with fabrics, fall, and fits.
Bunkaari isn’t about luxury. It’s about bringing back the easy, everyday clothing Indian women lived in — and loved. Our pieces are breezy, low-fuss, and rooted in prints that feel familiar. Whether it’s a palazzo, a summer dress, or a classic cotton skirt — it’s the kind of clothing that lets you breathe.
We’re not here to reinvent fashion. We’re just here to make it feel like home again.
