Calm Corner-"come back to yourself"
Calm Corner-"come back to yourself"
Hi, I'm Claire. 👋
For 8 years, I stood in front of Kindergarten and First Grade classrooms
in Taipei and later in New Jersey. I taught hundreds of little learners
to read their first words, write their first numbers, and — just as
most important — take a deep breath when things felt overwhelming.
That's where the name Calm Corner comes from.
In my classroom, I always kept a "Calm Corner" — a quiet little space
with soft pillows, picture books, and gentle activities where any child
could go to reset, refocus, and feel safe. It wasn't a timeout corner.
It was a "come back to yourself" corner.
When I became a mom to two curious kids (now 4 and 6), I started
designing worksheets at our kitchen table. Not the rushed, overwhelming
kind — but the slow, steady, "you've got this" kind. Worksheets that
build confidence one number at a time. Activities that make learning
Feel like play, not pressure.
Other parents and teachers kept asking where I got them.
So I opened this shop. 🌿
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Every worksheet in this shop is designed with three things in mind:
1. EDUCATIONAL RIGOR
I align my materials with early learning standards (Common Core
and beyond) — not because I believe in rigid standards, but
because I want you to know your child is building real skills.
2. EMOTIONAL SAFETY
No overwhelming layouts. No tiny fonts. No "finish everything in
5 minutes" pressure. Every page is designed to make a child feel
capable, not anxious.
3. PRACTICAL BEAUTY
I design these as both a teacher AND a mom. That means they need
to be beautiful enough that kids want to do them — and practical
enough that you can print them at 7 AM before coffee.
