¡Bienvenidos a Cast Iron Creative! 🔥
Somos un pequeño taller en Centre, Alabama. Yo soy Katie; me encargo de la grabadora láser y fabrico letreros táctiles y en braille, artículos para el hogar y regalos. Mi pareja, Shane, se encarga de la impresora 3D: posavasos personalizados, luces para fotos y los puntos braille que hacen que nuestras piezas táctiles sean auténticas: braille legible de verdad, no simples puntos decorativos.
¿Por qué el braille? Trabajo en el Centro para la Vida Independiente del Noroeste de Georgia y creo que la accesibilidad no debe limitarse a la supervivencia, sino que también debe abarcar el disfrute. Una despensa que se pueda recorrer con el tacto. Un adorno navideño con el nombre de tu hijo, impreso y en braille. Un cartel de bienvenida que realmente dé la bienvenida a todos.

Welcome to Cast Iron Creative! 🔥
We're a small workshop in Centre, Alabama. I'm Katie — I run the laser engraver, making braille & tactile signs, home goods, and gifts. My other half, Shane, runs the 3D printer — custom coasters, photo lights, and the braille dots that make our tactile pieces the real thing: actual readable braille, never just decorative dots.
Why braille? I spend my days at the Northwest Georgia Center for Independent Living, and I believe accessibility shouldn't stop at survival — it should include the fun stuff too. A pantry you can navigate by touch. A Christmas ornament with your child's name on it, in print and braille. A welcome sign that truly welcomes everyone.
