Chasing Shadows Abroad
Hace más de diez años recibí mi primera cámara, una Nikon FM10 SLR. Nada lujoso. Pero me enamoré de la idea de capturar un momento en el tiempo.
A partir de ese momento, mi pasión por la fotografía y la imagen ha aumentado exponencialmente. Durante el día, trabajo como director de fotografía y asistente de cámara en la soleada California. Capturar el tiempo dentro de un espacio para que otros disfruten ha sido la principal pasión de mi vida y trayectoria profesional.
Mi otra pasión principal son los viajes. Emprendí mi primera experiencia de viaje al extranjero en la escuela secundaria y desde entonces he estado viajando por el mundo. En agosto de 2010 compré un boleto de ida, empaqué una mochila, agarré mi cámara y me dirigí a una aventura de un año a través de Australia, Nueva Zelanda y Fiji. Aprender más sobre mí y mi vida en ese año que había aprendido en los 23 anteriores.
Al regresar, me habían dicho una y otra vez que me estableciera, comenzara mi carrera, etc., etc. Pero todo lo que realmente quiero hacer es experimentar y documentar el mundo en constante evolución que me rodea. La fotografía de Chasing Shadows se trata de ese sueño. Viajar por el mundo y fotografiarlo para que todos lo experimenten.
Over ten years ago I received my first camera, a Nikon FM10 SLR. Nothing fancy. But I fell in love with the idea of capturing a moment in time.
From that point on, my passion for photography and the image has exponentially increased. By day, I work as a cinematographer and assistant camera person in sunny California. Capturing time within a space for others to enjoy has been the main passion of my life and career path.
My other main passion is travel. I set out on my first overseas travel experience in high school and since then I have been traveling the world. In August of 2010 I bought a one way ticket, packed a backpack, grabbed my camera, and headed off on a year-long adventure across Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. Learning more about myself and my life in that one year that I had learned in the previous 23.
Upon returning I had been told over and over to settle down, get my career started, etc etc. But all I really want to do is experience and document the ever evolving world around me. Chasing Shadows photography is about that dream. Traveling the world and photographing it for all to experience.
