Made with love in Mississippi
My name is Gentry and I am a 1st grade teacher in Mississippi who loves to use crafts, art, and a variety of materials to bring joy and creativity to my classroom and others. I began sewing by hand as a child, finding projects from quilting to needlepoint. My mom and grandmother spent lots of time throughout my childhood sewing clothing for my sister and me. As a teacher, I have used my free time in the summers to learn to sew by machine using my Singer 4423.
I have enjoyed making various household items like hand towels, plastic bag holders, place mats, table runners, and holiday napkins. I later appliquéd several t-shirts with my school's logo for myself and several fellow teachers as they began requesting some for themselves. This word-of-mouth way of advertising took off and I began taking more and more orders, sewing most nights of the week.
I have always loved supporting local small businesses, and I eventually realized that I actually had a small business of my own! So I decided to open up my Crooked Letter Creations shop officially so that customers could choose from ready-made designs as well as make custom requests. Inventory changes weekly and I am continually creating new designs as ideas arise and requests are made. If you have a particular idea or image in mind, please let me know! I would love to work with you to create the perfect piece!
I have absolutely enjoyed creating custom designs to fit individual tastes and requests! I enjoy sewing and broadening my experience as I appliqué and continue to learn more about creating personalized handmade items from my home in the Hospitality State of Mississippi.
