He estado escuchando historias de tías y amigas mayores que llegaron a los Estados Unidos ya en la década de 1960. Trajeron sus colecciones de saris preciados con ellos, ya que eran demasiado queridos para separarse. Los Banarsi, Kanjivaram, Maisore Silks, Patolas, Balucharis y Kanthas y así sucesivamente. Continuaron agregando a sus colecciones cada vez que regresaban a casa, ya que el amor por los saris para una mujer india nunca se desvanece, solo se fortalece con el tiempo y la nostalgia ...
La mayoría de los saris son nuevos, nunca se abren o solo se usan una o dos veces, han estado sentados de manera segura, amorosamente envueltos, apreciados en armarios. Ahora ha pasado un ciclo de vida y uno se da cuenta de que es hora de dejar que estos saris encuentren nuevos hogares y circulen.
Te ofrezco saris de la era vintage, estos saris están casi siempre en condiciones nuevas y prístinas. Si hay algún defecto, se lo haría saber. Estos son de colecciones de mis tías y conocidos. Algunos de ellos los he embellecido con mi habilidad en la impresión tradicional de bloques a mano. Cada saris es seda auténtica y genuina.
I have been hearing stories of aunts and older women friends who came to US as far back as 1960's. They brought their collections of cherished sarees with them as they were too dear to part with. The Banarsi's, Kanjivaram's, Maisore Silks, Patolas, Balucharis and Kanthas and so on. They continued to add to their collections each time they went back home since the love for sarees for an Indian women never fades away it only grows stronger with time and nostalgia.....
Most of the sarees are brand new, never opened or only worn once or twice, they have been sitting securely, lovingly wrapped, cherished in closets. Now a life cycle has sort of passed and one realizes that it is time to let these sarees find new homes and circulate.
I am offering you sarees of the vintage era, these sarees are almost always in new, pristine condition. If there is any flaw I would let you know. These are from collections of my aunts and acquaintances. Some of them I have embellished with my skill in traditional hand block printing. Each saree is authentic, genuine silk.
