Craftsmanship, passion, adventure – our story
Handwerk, Leidenschaft, Abenteuer – unsere Geschichte
Freyhand began in the mid-90s as a small, passionate hobby project: a few friends, a lot of curiosity, and the first self-made metal armors. What emerged back then in an improvised workshop was less a business plan than the desire to create things with their own hands that actually worked in the game.
This hobby soon became something more: the first orders followed, and the small workshop grew into an equally small but ambitious company – back then still under the name Hammerkunst. The focus remained the same: to produce practical, durable equipment that truly serves the hobby and the people who practice it.
Over the years, not only did experience grow, but so did the desire to cover more aspects of the hobby. What began as metalwork was gradually expanded with new ideas: gambesons, textiles, leather goods, and padded weapons were added. In this way, a wide range of products gradually emerged and has continued to evolve – driven by curiosity, passion, and the ambition to create high-quality equipment.
Freyhand remains a passion project for people who are passionate about the hobby themselves. We develop and test our products in our own gaming environment, constantly improving them and only producing what we truly believe in. Not to get rich, but because we want to create good, durable, and fair equipment that brings genuine joy to gamers.
When you wear Freyhand products, you're not just wearing craftsmanship – you're wearing a lot of heart and soul, many years of experience and the enthusiasm of people who love adventure themselves.
