Is mise Aodhán (un po' di gaelico). Nel 2018 ho fondato Gifts of Ireland perché voglio offrirvi il meglio dell'Irlanda. Amo l'Irlanda. È casa mia.
Sono cresciuto nelle Midlands rurali, nella "Bog of Allen", in una fattoria. Ho trascorso l'infanzia passeggiando nei nostri pascoli verde smeraldo dell'Irlanda rurale, proprio nella fattoria in cui sono cresciuto. Il mio trisavolo si muoveva a piedi in quegli stessi campi. Mentre aiutavo mio padre, mi facevo venire fame, correvo in casa e divoravo il pane integrale al bicarbonato che mia madre prepara ancora oggi, accompagnato da una tazza di tè, ovviamente!
Ho viaggiato in ogni angolo d'Irlanda, dalla Wild Atlantic Way all'Ancient East, e il mio apprezzamento per quest'isola magica si rafforza man mano che la vivo. Volevo raccontare la storia dell'Irlanda alle persone, sia all'estero che in patria. Il nostro folklore, la nostra storia, la nostra Irlanda. E quale modo migliore per farlo se non attraverso prodotti irlandesi unici! Ogni pezzo di artigianato irlandese trae ispirazione dalle nostre esperienze in Irlanda. La mia missione è quella di raccontarvi questa storia attraverso prodotti irlandesi di qualità, provenienti da fornitori e artigiani locali provenienti da ogni angolo dell'Isola di Smeraldo.
Ogni settimana, racconto storie d'Irlanda alla mia comunità. Folklore, informazioni sull'araldica, storia, luoghi e un po' di sano divertimento irlandese! Questo nostro piccolo Paese è stato costruito con la comunità al centro. Il nostro senso di appartenenza e identità è forte, ovunque vi troviate nel mondo. Is mise Aodhán (bit of Gaelic). In 2018, I founded Gifts of Ireland because I want to bring the best of Ireland to you. I love Ireland. It’s my home.
I grew up in the rural midlands in the ‘Bog of Allen’ on a farm. I spent my childhood walking through our emerald green pasture of rural Ireland on the farm I grew up on. My great great great grandfather kicked through those same fields. Whilst working up an appetite from helping my father, I would run into the house and wolf down the brown soda bread that my mother still makes to this day, topped off with a cup of tea of course!
I have traveled to all parts of Ireland from the Wild Atlantic Way to the Ancient East and my appreciation for this magical Island only grows stronger the more I experience it. I wanted to bring this story of Ireland to people abroad and at home. Our folklore, our history, our Ireland. And what better way to do this than through unique Irish produce! Every piece of Irish craft is inspired by our experiences of Ireland. My mission is to bring that story to you through quality Irish produce from local suppliers and makers from all corners of the Emerald Isle.
