Goodlie Dogs - we're Natural, Sustainable (& Cumbrian)!
Based just outside of Appleby in the Eden Valley, Rebecca founded Goodlie Dogs in 2019. Through making toys and attire for her own dogs, her passion for creating beautiful products for our four-legged friends has grown; being inspired by her love for the Cumbrian fells and driven by a desire to provide the market with a sustainable, natural and carbon-conscious option for dog owners.
Emphasis has been placed on sourcing fabrics and materials that have a great UK provenance. Our ‘Herdwick’ collection of products launched in 2021 uses the beautiful Herdwick wool fabrics produced by ‘Cable & Blake’ in Kendal. The Herdwick sheep breed is synonymous with the Lake District, their wool is known for being course and hardwearing – two essential qualities for a sheep living in the high fells (and a product that is designed for dog use!). As the wool is sourced directly from herds in the Lake District, and the fabrics created in the Yorkshire Dales - we can confidently ensure our collection has the minimal carbon footprint and is sourced and made supporting British industries.
Products are tested thoroughly in-house by the Goodlie duo – Curtis & Hector. Two highly-strung spaniels, they ensure all items go through a rigorous ‘dragged through the hedge backwards’ procedure to ensure they are of the highest quality and tough enough to stand up to the full and fantastic life of a dog!
Headline? We love dogs!! And we will strive to be natural, sustainable and Cumbrian in all that we do.
