Christian's communication and customer service is top notch as he sent me a few e-mails regarding brush and knot types, timing of the finished brush and shipping speed. The handle weight balances well in the hand and is actually two solid brass washers, a brass spacer and a heavy brass coupler with no sharp edges. Awesome! If you want a shorter handle, I suppose you could remove the brass spacer and it would be a 1/4" - 1/2" shorter. This knot holds water very well, has minimal shedding and works very well with soaps at getting a lather going either in a bowl or on your face. Compared to the Silvertip badger, the boar has more backbone, gives a more exfoliating experience, and gives more lift to your whiskers. If the Silvertip is for the feel of luxury, the Boar hair knot is the feeling of invigorating your skin.

This is the perfect compliment to the Spring Shaving Soap and comes in a small glass bottle. The scent has some light moss/ grass/ subtle dandelion with a nice crisp clean finish of lemon grass. Your face has a lightly moisturized feel after use instead of an overly dried out feel as with many other aftershaves. Finally, this is absolutely the least stinging of any aftershave that I've used. A great product.

Pros: The tin is made of metal not a Polypropylene. Metal can be recycled whereas PP may not be able to be in your area. The scent of the soap in the tin is earthy mossy, uncut damp grass with a hint of lemongrass. Perfect for spring and summer! The scent when built into a lather has the light scent of clean grass and lemongrass. It lubricated very well and I had no nicks, cuts, etc. All the ingredients were pronounceable. I love soaps with bentonite clay. Cons: None Use: I used a HellRazor Boar BrassMonkey It did take 60-90 seconds to get a good lather. Usually I prefer to lather in a bowl or tin, but this soap worked best for me when a soft peaks consistency was applied to my face and I then worked into stiff peaks/ sour cream consistency. I find this soap can take quite a bit of water and produces and holds a great lather.

The weight of the hollow handle is very nice, the knot size is very full and it shipped immediately. Also, there is minimal shedding. After using a bargain badger brush, I was a bit sceptical as to the difference between silver-tipper and standard badger. As soon as I used this brush, I at once understood the reason for the higher cost!
