Tara
"You shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) These are the last words Christ spoke before he ascended to Heaven. As Catholics, this is the great mission we're called to. Being a twenty-something living in a culture saturated with promoting worldly desires, we millennials are hungry for truth, but we're looking in the wrong places. Her Witness was created to inspire all women, but especially my peers, to fearlessly live out their faith witnessing to the truth of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. Her Witness not only represents ourselves being a witness to others, but also a witness for our Blessed Mother through her Miraculous Medal. The Miraculous Medal has a special place in my heart and has been an instrument of grace used by our Lady for my own conversion. I desire to spread devotion to our Lady's Miraculous Medal and continue the building of the Militia Immaculata founded by St. Maximillian Kolbe. The Militia Immaculata is a spiritual army of souls consecrated to the Blessed Virgin Mary to deepen and spread the knowledge of the Gospel and our Catholic Faith thought the world.
The Miraculous Medal is special because the Virgin Mary designed the medal herself in an apparition appearing to St. Catherine Laboure in 1830. She promised those who wear her medal with faith and devotion will receive special graces in accordance with God's will. Our Lady is the ultimate example of perfect trust and obedience in God's will. When the angel Gabriel appeared to her to announce the incarnation, her response was simply, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done unto me according to your word.” (Luke 1:38) May we also be fearless like her and proclaim Christ throughout the world so that others may also see and believe.
Go forth and may God bless you sisters in Christ,
Tara
