The Spark of Creativity
Years ago when I was having a hard time figuring out what career path to choose, I stumbled upon a letter by Pope John Paul II called, "Letter to Artists." In short, the letter described how the gift of artistic creativity was but a "spark" of God's creativity, and that this spark was something that connected us to Him because He too is an Artist. My favorite part reads, "Not all are called to be artists in the specific sense of the term. Yet, as Genesis has it, all men and women are entrusted with the task of crafting their own life: in a certain sense, they are to make of it a work of art, a masterpiece. Society needs artists because they have their unique place. Obedient to their inspiration in creating works both worthwhile and beautiful, they enrich the cultural heritage of each nation and of humanity."
And that was it. I knew I needed to do something with art but art was always something that seemed more of a hobby and less a career. But to me, it's consuming in the best way. That random "spark" in the middle of the day that drives you to create a new design. That mid-shower "spark" that makes you rush to your notepad to write down the creative idea you had while shampooing. The "spark" that not only makes you light up, but makes someone else's day light up, too. That's where the name and passion for this shop comes from - to use the Spark He gave me, to help you find your creative Spark. Because we all have one. And it's more than Just a Spark, it's what unites us to an even greater Beauty.
Thank you for supporting this shop! Love, Sandra
