Here's my story...
Helloo!!!
I'm Kate (just in case the shop name didn't give me away).
I set up Kate Fox Design in March 2021. For the last ten years I've worked in HR, Communications and Marketing (which I actually loved), but my passion has always been illustration. I like to draw on anything I can get my hands on and have been told off one too many times for doodling in meetings.
Art was always my favourite subject in school, I studied at GCSE and A-Level and went on to complete an art foundation degree, after finishing I felt too daunted to pursue a career in the area with so many amazing artists around so off I trotted to an office job and hoped one day I would come back to it.
After being made redundant at the end of 2020 (darn covid) and a lot of soul searching, I wondered if my life long dream of drawing for a living could maybe happen? After a lot of encouragement from my very supportive husband, family and friends, I thought why the hell not? and so Kate Fox Design was born.
Since launching Kate Fox Design, I have been designing for a popular greetings card company, creating bespoke comissions for customers and companies, attending lots of glorious markets around the north west and of course selling my art prints on the fantastic market place that is Etsy.
I love using lots of beautiful colours in my art work, and working in lots of different mediums, whether that's pencil, watercolor, gouache or digital.
I seek a lot of my inspiration from nature, and I've always loved drawing anything botanical. I love being outdoors and I love to try and evoke a sensory reaction from my artwork. I spend most of my evenings drawing whilst listening to audiobooks.
When I'm not working, I spend my days trying to keep my two very cheeky girls out of mischief and spending time with my lovely husband, friends and family.
I live in Manchester and do regular markets around the area, so if you see me out and about I'd love to say Hi!
