Started on site at 15. Still running jobs today.
I started on job sites at 15 working for my dad. He was a lead hand and a super, and I learned most of it from him.
Did a few years of spec homes, some commercial and high-rise, then opened my own GC company in 2001 and ran it for 25 years. These days I'm a super in Victoria, BC.
Most bad days on site start the day before. A trade shows up and the area isn't ready. Nobody booked the inspection. Something got backfilled before anyone looked at it. The forms in this shop are built to catch that stuff before it costs you.
Most of it is for supers, foremen and PMs. Daily readiness, go/no-go before a trade mobilizes, pre-task checks for pours, crane days and backfill, plus the normal paperwork like daily reports, lookaheads, RFIs and punch lists.
I've also got a few for homeowners doing a reno. What to ask before you hire, tracking changes and payments, an old house checklist, and a final walkthrough so you're not paying the last invoice before the work is done.
Everything's a PDF. Print it, fill some of them in on a tablet, and use them again on the next job.
If something doesn't work the way you run your site, message me.
