Ho progettato Decorazioni Stagionali in Asia per più di 30 anni. Migliaia di articoli all'anno per le fabbriche da realizzare, ma ero sempre triste per la perdita di carattere e dettagli. Ora ho un luogo per esprimere ciò che mi piace davvero fare!
Carta Mâché.
Armature di filo con mazzette di carta sagomate per formare una base, stratificate molte volte con strisce di carta da giornale incollata, una per una, fino a quando non sono forti. Strati di vernice, sigillanti, glitter... qualunque cosa la cosa che cresce dal batuffolo di carta ha bisogno di prendere vita.
Mi piace aggiungere basi di pezzi strani e pezzi di vecchio vetro, ceramica, ottone, legno, libri ..... che trovo alle vendite spazzatura e agli incontri di scambio. Puliscimi, aggiungi un po' di vernice, glitter, foglia..? Dà al pezzo un po 'di peso, interesse e solide basi. Alcuni hanno ciglia, altri gioielli, gonne sfacciate ..... Ali!
Tutti i pezzi hanno un'armatura robusta e sono collegati saldamente alle loro basi. Ogni pezzo ha un'etichetta "LSF" in metallo stampato ed è datato. Tutto unico nel suo genere. E un lavoro d'amore.
I designed Seasonal Decor in Asia for more than 30 years. Thousands of items a year for factories to make, but I was always sad at the loss of character and detail. Now I have a venue to express what I really like to do!
Paper Mâché.
Wire armatures with wads of paper shaped to form a base, layered many times with strips of glued news paper, one by one, until strong. Layers of paint, sealers, glitter...what ever the thing growing out of the wad of paper needs to come alive.
I like to add bases of odd bits and pieces of old glass, ceramic, brass, wood, books.....that I find at junk sales and swap meets. Clean 'me up, add some paint, glitter, leaf..? Gives the piece a little weight and interest and sound footing. Some get eyelashes, others jewelry, sassy skirts..... wings!
All pieces have a sturdy armature and are connected securely to their bases. Each piece has a stamped metal 'LSF' tag and is dated. All One of a Kind. And a labor of love.
