Who is behind Littlest Gem? Just me! A 30 something year old stay-at-home mother to 3 children.
It all started with a tutorial on a craft site, some wire and beads. I began with making wire wrapped items. First necklaces, then bracelets, then I discovered rings. I spent time from 2013 up until 2015 making and selling rings, but due to some health issues, I had to stop making the rings and find something else I could create and sell. That's when I decided to change from making rings, to bracelets!
I didn't want to make chain bracelets because they are so common, and I wanted to make something that was more unique. I remembered from my childhood that everyone used to wear those friendship bracelets made with cotton threads in all different colors, tie them on and wear them all summer until they wore off! I wanted to make my own friendship bracelet, but one that you could take off and wear over and over without having to cut if off your wrist or wait until it wore down, so I created thread bracelets that have an adjustable sliding knot at the back so it could be taken off and put back on!
My etsy shop has been such a great opportunity to be my own boss and support my family, allowing me to be able to stay home and watch my children and also to provide and put food on the table, and a roof over our head. I'm very grateful :)
