My name is Viktor, and Manubeton is my passion. I never thought I'd become an entrepreneur—actually, I come from a completely different background. But then concrete combined with fire entered my life and ignited a spark within me that changed everything. I still vividly remember the moment I first lit the LUCEO freestanding fire: The flame danced in a cylindrical vessel made of elegant concrete, and its glow cast a warm, vibrant light onto the smooth surface. In that instant, I felt the fusion of design and emotion. It was campfire romance in miniature—crafted from ultra-high-density concrete that feels surprisingly soft and velvety to the touch. This experience awakened in me a deep enthusiasm for the product line called the Fire Family, which continues to this day.

But my joy turned to concern when the original company behind these designs – Betolz – filed for bankruptcy in 2025. This was a shock for the many fans and customers of the concrete fire designs, myself included. The thought that these unique flames could go out and the idea behind them could be lost broke my heart. Betolz was a small, passionate design manufacturer, where each unique concrete piece was lovingly handcrafted. Their philosophy was that a design object should be more than mere decoration – it should evoke a warm feeling in the viewer and represent something truly special. It was precisely this ideology that had enchanted me, too. And it was precisely this ideology I didn't want to lose.


When one flame went out, a new one was lit

The day it became clear that Betolz would close its doors forever, I made a gut decision: I would keep the fire alive. Without much business experience—actually, I had "nothing to do with entrepreneurship before"—I promptly founded Manubeton. The name stands for Manufaktur + Beton (Manufacture + Concrete) and clearly signals what it's all about: traditional craftsmanship and modern materials. It felt like raising a phoenix from the ashes. I was nervous, but even more so, I was determined and excited. After all, I had invested not only in the products, but also in the people behind them: I was able to take on some of the talented employees who had once passionately crafted the fire objects at Betolz. Together, we bought up remaining stock and continued production seamlessly—albeit under a new roof, independent of Betolz and free of legacy issues. Manubeton is a new start with its own responsibility and identity, but the soul of the fire family lives on in our work.

There were days in the early days when I was up to my elbows in concrete, learning how to pour, grind, and seal. Every step was new to me. But every cast prototype, every finished CLARUS permanent fire or LUCEO freestanding fire that came out of the mold, filled me with pride. I felt: This is worth it. The products I value so much were getting a second chance – and so were the artisans behind them. The fact that the LUCEO freestanding fire had even received an award for its outstanding quality, impressive design, and high functionality only reinforced this. This design had set new standards in the field of stylish fireplaces – and I felt obligated to maintain that bar, or even raise it, now that the legacy was in my hands.


Handmade with heart – in Büdingen, Hesse

Today, each of our pieces is handcrafted in Büdingen – with the same care and love as if it were a one-of-a-kind creation made just for us. Indeed, each piece is unique, as craftsmanship and the concrete material make each one a little bit individual. In our small factory, we mix a special ultra-high-strength concrete. This material combines modern aesthetics with an extremely high surface quality and density. The result is immediate: the smooth surface, achieved to such perfection only through extensive expertise and dedication, is a surprise upon first touch. Our concrete recipe, developed over 10 years, gives the surface the appearance of stone polished by water. This high-tech concrete is not only elegant but also extremely durable and robust – a design piece made of concrete can last for generations without losing its charm.

Mein Name ist Viktor, und Manubeton ist meine persönliche Herzensangelegenheit.
Ich hätte nie gedacht, dass ich einmal ein eigenes Designprojekt gründen würde – eigentlich komme ich aus einem ganz anderen beruflichen Umfeld. Doch irgendwann stieß ich auf Betonobjekte, die in Kombination mit Feuer etwas in mir ausgelöst haben, das mich bis heute nicht loslässt.
Ich erinnere mich noch genau an den Moment, als ich zum ersten Mal ein Standfeuer aus ultrahochdichtem Beton erlebte. Die Kombination aus klarer Formsprache, warmer Flamme und kühlem Beton hinterließ bei mir einen Eindruck, der blieb. Dieses Zusammenspiel aus Material, Form und Licht hat in mir eine ungeahnte Faszination geweckt – ein Gefühl von Ruhe und Atmosphäre, das mich tief berührt hat.
Als die frühere Firma, die einige dieser Designs entwickelt hatte, im Jahr 2025 Insolvenz anmelden musste, entstand bei vielen Fans, mich eingeschlossen, die Sorge, dass diese besonderen Produkte womöglich nie wieder verfügbar sein würden. Die Vorstellung, dass solche schönen Feuerdesigns einfach verschwinden könnten, ließ mich nicht los.

Als eine Flamme erlosch, entstand eine neue Idee
In diesem Moment reifte in mir der Gedanke, ein eigenes Projekt zu starten – unabhängig von früheren Firmen, aber inspiriert von der Begeisterung, die diese Art von Beton-Designs in mir ausgelöst hat. Ich gründete Manubeton als eigenständige Marke mit eigener Identität und eigener kreativer Ausrichtung.
Ich habe aus der damaligen Insolvenz Originalware – bereits fertig produzierte Bestände – erworben und gebe diesen Produkten nun die Möglichkeit, noch einmal genutzt und geschätzt zu werden. Eine eigene Produktion dieser Feuerobjekte findet nicht statt.
Für mich war das eine Art Neubeginn: ein Projekt, das nicht auf Vergangenheit aufbaut, sondern etwas Eigenes schafft und gleichzeitig hochwertige Restbestände vor dem Verschwinden bewahrt.
Dass das Standfeuer LUCEO – ein Design aus früherer Produktion – sogar ausgezeichnet wurde, war für mich ein zusätzlicher Beweis dafür, wie viel Potenzial in minimalistischen Feuerdesigns steckt. Genau diese Faszination begleitet mich bis heute.

Design aus Beton – mit Charakter und Persönlichkeit
Parallel dazu entstand meine Leidenschaft für eigene Betonobjekte: Kerzenhalter, Accessoires, kleine Betonstücke mit klaren Linien und einer Oberfläche, die immer eine individuelle Struktur zeigt.
Diese Stücke sollen etwas auslösen – ein Gefühl, eine Atmosphäre, einen Moment der Ruhe.
Für mich soll ein Manubeton-Design nicht nur gut aussehen, sondern eine kleine emotionale Verbindung schaffen: ein schwer zu beschreibendes Wohlgefühl, wenn man ein Objekt aus Beton berührt, sieht oder im Licht einer Flamme betrachtet.

Mehr als nur Design – Momente und Emotionen
Mir ist wichtig, dass Manubeton mehr ist als ein Shop.
Ich möchte kleine Ankerpunkte im Alltag schaffen – Momente, die entschleunigen.
Ein Teelicht in einem Betonhalter, das den Raum wärmer wirken lässt.
Ein kleines Tischfeuer auf dem Balkon, das die Stimmung hebt.
Ein Betonobjekt, das sich durch Struktur und Gewicht besonders anfühlt.
Viele Menschen berichten mir, dass sie beim Betrachten von Feuer oder dem Halten eines Betonobjekts Ruhe finden. Genau das möchte ich unterstützen: besondere Momente, die Design spürbar machen.

Ein Projekt, das wächst – und dank Euch lebt
