Matrescent Studios is a village with many hands and no single face, so that every mother may see her own.

There is a word for the change a woman moves through when a child is born: matrescence, the becoming of a mother. It is as real as adolescence, even deeper — and though many cultures still honor it, much of the modern world moves past it in silence. We are here to walk this passage with her, so that no mother moves through it unrecognized.
