Nothing to Something – 'Mu' to 'Yu'
Hi! Thanks for shopping at MuYu* Space! I was often told that I need to entice my shoppers with a catchy story of a defining time when I became a maker and a seller. This, to me, always felt somewhat arbitrary, albeit it can be an effective marketing tool. I don't really have a singular situation that suddenly turned me into a creative person. The creativity was kind of always there, like a shadow or an inseparable twin sibling, and I believe it's actually like that for most people.
We ALL have been in that space where we created 'something' out of 'nothing.' Some of us enjoy that process only as a hobby, and others, like me, turn it into a business and a way of life.
Years ago, I had a jewelry shop on etsy, and sold well over 3,000 items in relatively a short amount of time. When I got burnt out doing that, I went back to my very first childhood creative outlet – drawing and painting. I had a decent five-year run selling my illustrations at a weekly pop-up, which came to a halt with the pandemic. And now, I'm diving into ceramics, one of the required courses that I really enjoyed as a design major in college.
At MuYu Space, I offer not just my ceramic pieces, but also other creations of different disciplines. Hope you keep coming back for updates and new products.
*In Korean/Chinese language, 'Mu' means nothing, and 'Yu' means something.
