Ci siamo trasferiti a Jaipur, nel Rajasthan, noto per la sua arte tradizionale e colorata.
Io, Stuti Narnolia, sono cresciuta a Jaipur, nel Rajasthan, chiamata anche la città rosa dell'India. Gli edifici qui sono realizzati in arenaria dipinta di rosa che le porta il nome di Pink City. Sono andato a studiare a Jaipur. Ero lì per la formazione in ingegneria. Ma la bellezza dell'arte artigianale e dell'architettura di Jaipur mi ha sempre attratto.
Questa città è ricca di cultura, arte artigianale e artigianato. Sono sempre stato affascinato dall'arte e dall'artigianato di Jaipur. Ho letto della sua cultura, tradizione e arte. Anche Jaipur ha mercati inondati di oggetti di artigianato. Passavo ore al mercato solo per vederli e la loro bellezza. Indubbiamente attirano la mia attenzione. Ora volevo sapere sempre di più su questi capolavori. Non sono riuscito a resistere a me stesso.
Ho iniziato la mia ricerca di artisti e artigiani qualificati che realizzano questi oggetti unici. Sono andato nei villaggi e nella periferia di Jaipur per vedere come sono fatte le cose. Sono rimasto sorpreso dalla loro abilità, calibro, duro lavoro e pazienza. Il loro talento deve essere la magia di Dio. Questi artigiani hanno sfornato l'arte dei loro antenati tramandata da generazioni. Adesso era il momento in cui volevo imparare queste arti. Ho imparato l'arte della serigrafia a mano, della stampa a blocchi, del ricamo come kantha, specchio, suzani, tie dye e molti altri nel tempo libero e nei fine settimana.
Mentre la vita va avanti, così ho organizzato il mio matrimonio. Dopo il matrimonio, mi sono stabilito a Gurgaon. Dopo qualche tempo, io e mio marito ci rendiamo conto che andrò oltre con la mia passione per l'arte. Mi ha mandato di nuovo a Jaipur per completare il mio apprendimento. Ho iniziato a realizzare oggetti per l'arredamento della casa come attaccapanni, cuscini, ecc. Cerco sempre di mettere al lavoro la mia creatività e le nuove idee. Le persone erano stupite dalla varietà e dalla vivacità del lavoro. Ora ho iniziato a costruire una squadra. Ho dato formazione a quelli meno privilegiati. Il mio lavoro non solo mi dà un immenso piacere ma anche un'enorme soddisfazione poiché il mio lavoro ha incoraggiato i poveri artigiani che possono gestire il proprio sostentamento e contribuire all'arte indiana nell'espansione a livello globale.

Insieme a mio marito e al mio team realizzo arazzi, cuscini, trapunte, tende, coperte e molti altri oggetti fatti a mano. Lo vendiamo con il marchio MultiMateCollection di Jaipur, India. I nostri due artigiani Tajirul e Samir vivono in Rajasthan dove produciamo questi articoli. Il sarto e gli altri compagni di squadra lavorano da Gurgaon. Continuiamo a viaggiare tra Gurgaon e Rajasthan. Vendiamo questi prodotti. La mia squadra si guadagna da vivere producendo e vendendo questo. Realizziamo anche coperte rotonde, cuscini e tende con disegni di arazzi. L'arazzo è un lenzuolo di tessuto piatto come un copriletto realizzato al 100% in cotone.
La bellezza sta nel bellissimo disegno su di esso come mandala, albero della vita, elefante, celtico, celeste, psichedelico stampato a mano su di esso. Questi teli possono essere utilizzati come appendiabiti da parete, biancheria da letto, coperta, copertura per mobili, telo da picnic e plaid. Questi fogli sono realizzati a mano con me e il mio team utilizzando le competenze di serigrafia manuale, tintura a cravatta e stampa a blocchi manuale. Noi e il nostro membro del team realizziamo questo bellissimo arazzo con duro lavoro e pazienza.
Abbiamo incluso dei bellissimi cuscini mandala e patchwork sul pavimento. I cuscini patchwork hanno bellissimi abbinamenti. ci piace il processo fatto a mano di patch-working. ci piace giocare con queste bellissime toppe vintage e unirle in collage per dare un effetto gioiello ai cuscini. Il cuscino patchwork è realizzato a mano in tessuto ricamato antico e vintage dal nostro artigiano del team. I ricami presentano una ricca lavorazione a filo, lavorazione a specchio, paillettes, pietre e perline. Queste toppe in tessuto sono attaccate insieme sul tessuto di base con gomma ecologica. Sono incollati con le mani in uno stile bellissimo con motivi artistici di design e colori.
Luglio 2018, siamo lieti di annunciare che abbiamo un nuovo artista in Family. Il suo nome è Jhumki. Lei è una donna di 35 anni del Bengala, in India, che pratica ricami kantha a mano fin dall'infanzia. Jhumki sta realizzando ricami kantha sui miei disegni. Kantha è un ricamo a mano eseguito su strati di tessuto. Kantha esegue punti a mano sul tessuto. Per questo motivo la linea di corsa o il disegno vengono tracciati sul tessuto. Con l'aiuto dell'ago con due capi di filo, viene eseguita una lunga fila di punti continui lungo il segno. I punti Kantha conferiscono un bell'aspetto e rinforzano anche il tessuto. Traccio il disegno sul tessuto e i colori del filo per il ricamo. Jhumki fa il suo lavoro con amore e pazienza.
Per noi Handmade non è solo conoscere l'abilità, ma anche realizzarla. Fatto a mano è creare qualcosa di bello e unico con amore e passione. Ci prendiamo cura personalmente che ci sia amore e armonia nell'ambiente e manteniamo sempre il posto in uno stato d'animo felice.
We moved to Jaipur, Rajasthan - known for its traditional, colorful art.
I, Stuti Narnolia has grown in Jaipur, Rajasthan which is also called pink city of India. The buildings here are made with pink-painted sandstone which brings it the name of Pink City. I went for studies in Jaipur. I was there for engineering education. But the beauty of handmade art and architecture of Jaipur always attracted me.
This city has richness of culture, handmade art and handicrafts. I was always fascinated by Art and crafts of Jaipur. I read about its heritage culture, tradition and art. Also Jaipur has markets flooded with handicraft items. I used to spend hours in market just to see them and their beauty. They undoubtedly catch my eye. Now I wanted to know more and more about these masterpieces. I was not able to resist myself.
I started my search for skilled artists and craftsmen who make these unique stuffs. I went to villages and outskirt of Jaipur to see how things are made. I was surprised by their skill, caliber, hard work and patience. Their talent must be God’s magic. These craftsmen have churned the art from their ancestor which has been passed from generations. Now it was the time I wanted to learn these arts. I learnt the art of hand screen printing, block printing, embroidery like kantha, mirror, suzani, tie dye and many others in my spare time and weekends.
As life move on, so I did my wedding. After wedding, I settled in Gurgaon. After sometime, I and my husband realize that I shall go further with my passion for art. He sent me Jaipur again to complete my learning. I started making home decor stuffs like wall hanging, pillows, etc. I always try to put my creativity and new ideas to the work. People were dazzled by the variety and vibrancy in the work. Now I started building team. I gave training to less privileged ones. My work do not only gives me immense pleasure but also huge satisfaction as my work encouraged the poor artisan who can run their livelihood and contribute Indian art in expanding globally.
Information about my shop
I along with my husband and team make handmade tapestries, pillows, quilts, curtains, blankets and many other items. We sell it under MultiMateCollection brand from Jaipur, India. Our two artisans Tajirul and Samir live in Rajasthan where we make these items. Tailor and other team mates work from Gurgaon. We keep on travelling between Gurgaon and Rajasthan. We sell these products. My team earn their livelihood by making and selling this. We also make round blanket, pillows, curtain out of tapestry designs. Tapestry is flat fabric sheet like bedspread made of 100% cotton.
The beauty lies in the beautiful design on it like mandala, tree of life, elephant, Celtic, celestial, psychedelic hand printed on it. These sheets can be used as wall hanging, bedding, blanket, furniture cover, picnic sheet and throws. These sheets are handmade with me and my team using hand screen printing, tie dye and hand block printing skills. We with our team member make this beautiful tapestry with hard work and patience.
We have included some beautiful mandala and patchwork floor cushions. The patchwork cushions has beautiful matches. we enjoy handmade process of patch-working. we enjoy playing with these beautiful vintage patches and joining them in collage to give jewel like effect to pillows. The patchwork pillow is handmade from old and vintage embroidered fabric by our team artisan. Embroideries have rich thread work, mirror work, sequin, stone, and beads on it. These fabric patches are stick together on base fabric with eco friendly gum. They are pasted with hands in beautiful style with artistic pattern of design and colours.
July 2018, We are happy to announce that we have new artist in Family. Her name is Jhumki. She is 35 year old woman from bengal of India and doing kantha hand embroidery since her childhood. Jhumki is doing kantha embroidery on my designs. Kantha is hand embroidery that is done on layer of fabrics. Kantha is running hand stitches on fabric. For this running line or design is traced on fabric. With help of needle with two strands of thread, long line of running stitches are along the mark is done. The kantha stitches gives it beautiful look and also strength the fabric. I trace the design on fabric and colors of thread for embroidery. Jhumki does her work with love and patience.
For us, Handmade is not only knowing skill and but also about making it. Handmade is making something beautiful and unique with love and passion. We personally take care that there is love and harmony in environment and keep the place in happy mood always.
