5 out of 5 starsThe flower is beautiful. I was looking for something to fit in or fit over a planter that was gifted to me. It works perfectly. I am so glad I found your shop.

What is sgraffito?
Sgraffito is a pottery decoration technique where contrasting colored slip or underglaze is applied to leather-hard clay and then scratched or carved away to reveal the raw clay body beneath, creating a unique design. Originating from the Italian word "to scratch," this method creates detailed, high-contrast images, requiring sharp carving tools and precise timing to avoid messy, soft edges
Why are sgraffito pieces more expensive?
The process of sgraffito is time consuming as it does not involve a transfer of a design or screen printing. I draw out all my designs on paper first before hand carving each one onto clay item before it is fired.
