¡Cómo me enamoré de hacer cerámica!
How I fell in love with making pottery!
Todo comenzó cuando me mudé al otro lado del país desde Maryland hasta East Bay. Me mudé a Berkeley, toda una "ciudad artística". En aquellos días y siendo fiel a mi decisión de no volver a conducir (soy un fuerte activista de la Tierra) caminaba bastante o confiaba en mi bicicleta. Durante uno de mis viajes locales descubrí una tienda de cerámica, y ...... ¡fue amor a primera vista! Mientras miraba las piezas me dije a mí mismo... ¡Oye, puedo hacer esto! Por supuesto, en ese momento, no pude, pero después de muchas clases y experimentos, ¡comencé a producir piezas que la gente REALMENTE AMABA!
Participé en algunos espectáculos de venta de cerámica, y nuevamente la recepción fue muy positiva. La gente me decía que necesitaba tener una presencia "en línea"... Estuve de acuerdo, así que POTTERYMADEWITHLOVE se creó en Etsy durante el primer trimestre de 2021. ¡Buena jugada! Me encanta vender en Etsy, conozco a las personas más encantadoras a través de Etsy, ¡es tan agradable!
No tengo equipo de fabricación de cerámica propio (aparte de una tonelada de herramientas), por lo que debo confiar en la fabricación de cerámica en un estudio comunitario. Lo mismo ocurre con la cocción de bisque y para la cocción de gas alta. ¡Todos estos costos se suman! Pero, todavía disfruto el proceso, ¡y vale la pena! Me encanta saber que mis piezas están siendo "amadas" en los hogares. Puse mucho amor, esfuerzo y tiempo en cada pieza, y aprecio que se aprecie.
Como puede ver al visitar mi sitio, obviamente me encanta el color, todo el color, los rosas, los azules, los azules-verdes, los shinos, ¡todos ellos!

It all began when I moved across the country from Maryland to the East Bay. I moved to Berkeley, quite an "artsy town". In those days and being true to my decision of not driving again (I am a strong Earth activist) I would walk quite a bit or rely on my bike. During one of my local trips I discovered a pottery shop, and ...... it was love at first sight! While I was looking at the pieces I told myself..... Hey, I can do this! Of course, right then, I could not, but after many classes and experimenting, I began turning out pieces that people REALLY LOVED!
I took part in a few pottery selling shows, and again the reception was very positive. People kept telling me I need to have an "on Line" presence...... I agreed, so POTTERYMADEWITHLOVE was created on Etsy during the first quarter of 2021. Good move! I love selling on Etsy, I meet the loveliest people through Etsy, it is so nice!
I do not have pottery making equipment of my own (other than a ton of tools), so I must rely on pottery making at a community studio. Same goes for bisque firing and for gas high firing. All these costs add up! But, I still enjoy the process, and it is worth it! I love to know that my pieces are being "loved" in homes. I put a great deal of love, effort, and time into each piece, and I appreciate it being appreciated.
