Welkom bij Practical Blackwork! Hier vindt u origineel geteld zwartwerk geïnspireerd door de geschiedenis, zowel klassieke "Elizabethaanse" ontwerpen geschikt voor historische re-creatie en costuming, en stukken geïnspireerd door handwerk schatten en tradities over de hele wereld.

Alle Praktische Blackwork patronen zijn ontworpen met oog en hand van historische en traditionele inspiratiestukken, niet "digitale reproducties" gedaan door software. Alle kaarten zijn met de hand getekend en gecontroleerd op kwaliteit met echte menselijke oogbollen. (En, natuurlijk, onze crack Quality Control Department te zien op de foto's hierboven.)

Alle patronen zijn gemaakt voor handstiksels. Onze patronen bevatten specifieke instructies die nodig zijn voor het ontwerp, maar we nemen geen generieke "how to blackwork" -instructies op - er zijn een aantal echt geweldige tutorials op YouTube, enz., Die dit veel beter laten zien dan we in een paar woorden zouden kunnen vertellen. Houd er rekening mee dat prijzen niet alleen gebaseerd zijn op het aantal pagina's in een PDF, maar ook op de hoeveelheid tijd die wordt besteed aan het ontwikkelen van het ontwerp zelf. Kaartopstellingen worden ook gemaakt met ingewikkeldheid in gedachten - over meerdere pagina's of op één, voor gebruiksgemak.

OPMERKING OVER KITS - Op dit moment zijn de kosten voor het bestellen, verwerken en verzenden van materialen voor kits onbetaalbaar. Om die reden blijven Praktische Blackwork-ontwerpen als digitale downloads voor uw onmiddellijke bevrediging (met uitzondering van het occasionele borduurstuk dat door The Management is bewerkt.) Ik ben altijd blij om met u te overleggen over de beste materiaalkeuzes voor uw specifieke behoeften.

OPMERKING OVER HET VERZENDEN VAN FYSIEKE ITEMS - op dit moment verzend ik alleen naar de VS. Ik bied alleen 1e klas USPS-service vanwege de locatie - u vragen om meer te betalen voor "sneller" en ga gewoon niet vanaf hier werken. Bedankt voor uw begrip!

Welcome to Practical Blackwork! Here you will find original counted blackwork inspired by history, both classic "Elizabethan" designs suitable for historic re-creation and costuming, and pieces inspired by needlework treasures and traditions worldwide.

All Practical Blackwork patterns are designed by eye and hand from historic and traditional inspiration pieces, not "digital reproductions" done by software. All charts are hand-drawn and quality-checked with actual human eyeballs. (And, of course, our crack Quality Control Department seen in the photos above.)

All patterns are created for hand-stitching. Our patterns include any specific instruction required for the design, but we do not include generic "how to blackwork" instructions - there are a number of really great tutorials on Youtube, etc, that show this much better than we could tell in a few words. Like the "modelbuchs" of old we strive to give you as much "design" as possible and let your creativity run with it. Please note that prices are not based just on number of pages in a PDF, but on the amount of time spent developing the design itself. Chart set-ups are created with intricacy in mind as well - over several pages or on one, for ease of use.

NOTE ON KITS - At this time, costs for ordering, handling, and shipping materials for kits are prohibitive. For that reason, Practical Blackwork designs will remain as digital downloads for your instant gratification (with the exception of the occasional embroidery piece worked by The Management.) I am always happy to consult with you on the best material choices for your particular needs.
