Pulse of the Paradox | Heavy Ink • Quiet Mind • Mindful Art
Mindfulness art for people who think too much and want a quiet place to land.
I'm an oil painter, mindfulness teacher, life drawing teacher and tattoo artist based in Milton Keynes, UK. Pulse of the Paradox is where those four practices meet. Each piece begins by hand, in charcoal, heavy ink or classical oil, then is prepared and printed for you.
WHAT YOU'LL FIND HERE
Charcoal and ink art prints, framed or unframed. A somatic charcoal sketchbook. Non-duality art cards. Wall art for meditation spaces, living rooms and thoughtful gifts.
THE PARADOX
The closer we look at reality, the stranger it gets. The simplest things hold opposing truths. This studio explores those contradictions, above all the oldest one in non-duality: you find who you are by letting go of who you think you are.
HOW THE ART IS MADE
Every piece starts with an idea that links to the Dharma, or wisdom if you prefer. The medium comes second. It might be an oil painting, a charcoal sketch, a digital drawing or just words. Each one goes through many stages of making and refining. Then I prepare the file for print. A print can't carry the thick, physical texture of oil paint, so for those pieces I usually rebuild the image in line and ink to make up for it. Charcoal and ink pieces keep their smudges, swipes and the mark of the hand. A print partner prints it on heavyweight matte paper and posts it to you. If you want a flawless, glossy picture, this is not the shop for you.
ACCESSIBLE PATRONAGE
Each print is a Visual Dharma Talk you can hang on the wall. It brings the weight of an original into your home at a fraction of the gallery price. Every sale also supports my studio and my teaching.
The Aesthetic: Classical drafting, heavy monochrome linework and wabi-sabi geometry.
The Philosophy: Rooted in the Dharma, somatic awareness and the present moment.
The Result: A quiet anchor for your space, and a gentle story to start a conversation.
