Army Housing Blacksmith
Siempre me ha gustado trabajar con mis manos y trabajar la madera era mi principal pasatiempo. Me fui a la escuela de vuelo para la Guardia Nacional del Ejército de Virginia Occidental en febrero de 2014. No podía llevar mi equipo de trabajo de madera conmigo y después de estar en Fort Rucker Alabama durante un par de meses, rápidamente decidí que necesitaba un pasatiempo. Siempre me había fascinado la herrería y decidí intentarlo (¡puedes aprender a hacer cualquier cosa desde YouTube!).
Hice una fragua barata, compré un yunque barato y algunos martillos y encontré algo de chatarra en un depósito de chatarra y comencé a martillar. Instalé mi herrería en la cochera de nuestro lugar en viviendas militares en el puesto, lo que finalmente atrajo la atención de la gente de la vivienda y me causó algunos problemas.
Me gradué de la escuela de vuelo en abril de 2015 y ahora vivimos en Lexington VA. Tengo una herrería adecuada aquí en mi casa ahora y he agregado y actualizado gran parte de mi equipo. Antes de irme a la escuela de vuelo había sido oficial de policía durante 12 años. Decidí dejar la policía y estoy tratando de mantener a mi familia (5 niños y una esposa maravillosa) con la Guardia Nacional y la herrería.
También tengo una licenciatura en Ministerios Juveniles de Religión. Creo que Dios me ha llamado a seguir el ministerio y estoy buscando oportunidades para servir a Dios en esa capacidad en una iglesia local como ministro vocacional bilingüe también.
I have always enjoyed working with my hands and wood working was my major hobby. I left for flight school for the West Virginia Army National Guard in February of 2014. I could not take my wood working equipment with me and after being down at Fort Rucker Alabama for a couple months I quickly decided I needed a hobby. I had always been fascinated with blacksmithing and decided to give it a go (you can learn how to do anything from YouTube!).
I made a cheap forge, bought a cheap anvil and some hammers and found some scrap metal at a junk yard and started hammering away. I set up my blacksmith shop in the carport of our place in military housing on post, which eventually attracted the eye of the housing people and caused me some issues.
I graduated flight school in April 2015 and now we are living in Lexington VA. I have a proper blacksmith shop here at my house now and have added to and upgraded much of my equipment. Before leaving for flight school I had been a police officer for 12 years. I decided to leave law enforcement and I am trying to support my family (5 boys and a wonderful wife) with the National Guard and blacksmithing.
I also have a bachelor's degree in Religion Youth Ministries. I believe that God has called me to pursue ministry and I am looking for opportunities to serve God in that capacity in a local church as a bi vocational minister as well.
