Namaste y bienvenidos a mi tienda, Rustic Passport Studio - para exploradores de moda hechos a mano. ¡Hola! Soy Nikki C (Namrata Chhatbar), propietaria y diseñadora de este maravilloso espacio. La pregunta podría ser ¿por qué Rustic Passport y cuál es la historia detrás de él?
❤️ Bueno, rústico porque me conecto con artistas de lugares rurales para preservar el arte milenario que se desvanece al metamorfosearlo en cortes modernos. Pasaporte porque tendrás la misma experiencia que salir del país y disfrutar de este arte. Si bien estamos comenzando con la India, nuestro plan a largo plazo es ofrecerle el arte de diferentes partes del mundo. Después de todo, ¡todos estamos conectados!
🌱Una semilla fue sembrada hace más de una década, cuando fui a aldeas internas de los estados indios de Gujarat y Rajasthan. Estaba trabajando para una casa de moda entonces como recién graduada de negocios y diseño de moda. Me quedé asombrado cuando vi el arte hermoso y galardonado internacionalmente. Antes de que pudiera apreciarlo, me entristeció saber cuánto desfavorecidos y subestimados eran estos artistas, lo que resultó en desempleo (¡y suicidio en muchos casos!) La digitalización, la producción en masa y la urbanización causaron el desvanecimiento de este arte y la generación más joven optó por mudarse de este negocio familiar. Pude sentir su dolor, Después de todo, ¡todos estamos conectados!
¡Mi pasión por la moda con compasión finalmente está prosperando y me siento contenta de poder traerte este arte! Actualmente tengo cuatro socios de producción en la India que me ayudan a hacer realidad los diseños. Están dispersos en diferentes estados de la India: Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu y Gujarat y estoy muy agradecido con ellos por ayudarme a hacer realidad este sueño. Mi objetivo es trabajar principalmente con mujeres empresarias y artistas. Cuando era adolescente solía diseñar y hacer mi propia ropa, joyas, zapatos, bolsos, artesanías, regalos y decoración del hogar. Ahora, siendo madre, tengo diferentes responsabilidades, pero todavía me encanta diseñar y espero lanzar mi línea de ropa en la primavera de 2021. ¡Así que conectémonos!
Mi misión: Crear conciencia sobre la sostenibilidad, reviviendo el arte antiguo allí mediante la promoción de artistas y el empoderamiento de las mujeres.
♻️ Me encanta incorporar materiales naturales y arte hecho a mano en mis productos. Me gustan las telas naturalmente transpirables y reciclables como el algodón, el bambú, el cáñamo y otras telas naturales como la seda y la lana. Voto por tintes naturales libres de químicos, impresión de bloques a mano tallados a mano, tejido a mano y telar manual. Utilizamos principalmente estos materiales: Pendientes: Latón, Arcilla, Madera, Plata Alemana y otros metales y piedras; calzado - tela, cuentas, TPR reciclable, cuero genuino y otros materiales. Hacemos embragues de latón utilizando tallado a mano y / o la técnica del martillo de mano, que es muy intrincada y lleva aproximadamente un mes hacer una pieza.
Usar y crear productos que están hechos a mano y utiliza materiales naturales me dan alegría, satisfacción y la sensación de conexión ❤️: la conexión con la madre tierra 🌎, la conexión con las emociones y el amor de los artistas 🖐️. Esto me hace sentir contento, conectado 🙏 y en paz ☮️.

Namaste and Welcome to my store, Rustic Passport Studio - for handmade fashion explorers. Hi! I am Nikki C ( Namrata Chhatbar), owner and designer of this wonderful space. The question might be why Rustic Passport and what's the story behind it?
❤️ Well, Rustic because I connect with artists from rural locations to preserve the fading age-old art by metamorphing it into modern cuts. Passport because you will have the same experience as stepping out of the country and enjoying this art. While we are starting with India, our long-term plan is to offer you the art from different parts of the world. After all, we are all connected!
🌱A seed was sown more than a decade ago, when I went to internal villages of Indian states of Gujarat and Rajasthan. I was working for a fashion house then as a recent graduate of business and fashion designing. I was awestruck when I saw the beautiful and international-award-winning art. Before I could cherish it, I was saddened to know how much underprivileged and underrated these artists were, which resulted unemployment (and suicide in many cases!) Digitalization, mass production, and urbanization caused fading of this art and younger generation opted to move out of this family-owned business. I could feel their pain, After all, we are all connected!
My passion for fashion with compassion is finally thriving and I feel content to be able to bring this art to you! Currently I have four production partners in India who help me make designs into reality. They are scattered in different states of India - Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat and I am so grateful to them for helping me make this dream come true. My aim is to work primarily with female entrepreneurs and artists. As a teen I used to design and make my own clothing, jewelry, shoes, bags, crafts, gifts and home decor. Now, being a mom I have different responsibilities but I still love designing and looking forward to launch my clothing line in Spring of 2021. So let's connect!
My Mission: Create awareness about sustainability, reviving age old art there by promoting artist and empowering women.
♻️ I love incorporating natural materials and handmade art in my products. I like naturally breathable and recyclable fabrics like cotton, bamboo, hemp and other natural fabrics like silk and wool. I vote for chemical free natural dyes, hand carved hand block printing, hand weaving, and handloom. We mainly use these materials: Earrings: Brass, Clay, Wood, German Silver and other metal and stones; footwear - fabric, beads, recyclable TPR, genuine leather and other materials. We make brass clutches using hand carving or/and hand hammer technique which is very intricate and takes about a month to make one piece.
Wearing and Creating products that are handmade and uses natural materials give me joy, satisfaction and the feel of connection ❤️ - the connection with mother earth 🌎, the connection with emotions and love of the artists 🖐️. This makes me feel content, connected 🙏 and at peace ☮️.
