¡Bienvenido a Sandbox! Las creaciones que encuentras aquí combinan mi amor por la naturaleza con una tradición y sensibilidad vintage del viejo mundo.
Siempre me he sentido como en casa, en el jardín y en el bosque, recogiendo hojas y flores para prensarlas en libros, recogiendo fresas para hacer mermelada con mi abuela o simplemente dando un paseo por el bosque. Mi amor por la pintura con acuarela está inspirado en los hermosos alrededores de Bainbridge Island, donde criamos a nuestros hijos. Las aves locales, las flores y la vida agrícola son mis imágenes favoritas para pintar. Me gusta pintar en pequeño, en "viñetas", por lo que la idea de crear tarjetas a partir de mis pinturas fue natural y una excelente manera de compartir mi arte con muchos.
Los fondos para mis imágenes a menudo utilizan elementos antiguos de la genealogía y la colección de sellos postales de mi propia familia, o postales, libros de contabilidad, anuncios y varios papeles antiguos. Seguramente también notarás mi amor por todo lo francés. Me gusta crear una sensación de viejo mundo desgastando y envejeciendo las imágenes. Utilizo papeles y sobres de alta calidad y me esfuerzo por utilizar papeles reciclados siempre que sea posible.
Me gradué de la Universidad de San Francisco con una licenciatura en Marketing y siempre he trabajado para empresas que tienen el servicio al cliente como máxima prioridad. Un poco sobre mí personalmente... Tengo un esposo maravilloso y cuatro hijos divertidos, de entre 29 y 20 años. A todos nos encanta cocinar y hornear, tenemos un gran jardín donde obtenemos muchas de nuestras propias verduras y frutas, y criamos gallinas para obtener huevos. . Si no nos encuentra trabajando en el estudio o en el jardín, a menudo nos encontrará tomando café y pastelería en una cafetería local, andando en bicicleta o caminando por nuestros hermosos senderos del noroeste.
Welcome to Sandbox! The creations you find here combine my love of nature with a vintage, old-world tradition and sensibility.
I have always been at home in a garden and in the woods - collecting leaves and flowers to press into books, picking strawberries to make jam with my grandma, or just taking a walk in the woods. My love for watercolor painting is inspired by the beautiful surroundings on Bainbridge Island, where we raised our children. Local birds, flowers and farm life are my favorite images to paint. I like to paint small, in "vignettes," so the idea of creating cards from my paintings was natural, and a great way to share my art with many.
Backdrops for my images often use vintage ephemera from my own family's genealogy and postage stamp collection, or postcards, ledgers, advertisements and various old papers. You will certainly notice my love of all things French as well. I like to create an old world feel by distressing and antiquing the images. I use high quality papers and envelopes, and strive to use recycled papers whenever possible.
I graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in Marketing, and have always worked for companies that hold customer service as a top priority. Wonderful customer service at Sandbox is what you can expect. As in most small businesses, I am responsible for all aspects of Sandbox operations - I'm the painter, the graphic designer, the printer and photographer, the shipping department and bookkeeper, the marketing and web department...rest assured that your product was handmade with care and love in my studio here in the northwest.
A little about me personally…I have a wonderful husband and four fun children, ages 29 to 20. We all love cooking and baking, we have a big garden where we source many of our own vegetables and fruits, and we raise chickens for eggs. If you don't find us working in the studio or garden, you will often find us having coffee and pastry at a local cafe, biking or walking our beautiful northwest trails.
