¿Por qué "Diseño de juncia"?
Why "Sedge Design"?
Las juncias (género Carex) demuestran que lo pasado por alto o descartado puede ser significativo e incluso restaurador dado el contexto adecuado. Lejos de ser malas hierbas inútiles, estas plantas perennes persistentes prosperan en muchos entornos diferentes sin cortar el césped, pesticidas o atención especializada. Las juncias ayudan a detener la erosión y alimentan la vida silvestre, y existen en cientos de variedades. Su belleza es discreta, se encuentra en hojas afiladas de color verde largo y flores pequeñas pero llamativas.
En el rescate de objetos, tomo a Carex como mi inspiración. Valoro las cosas hechas para durar y admiro las líneas sobrias y los pequeños detalles. En Sedge Design, reutilizo, reutilizo y revendo desechos, restos antiguos y artesanía de calidad que encuentro en ventas de inmuebles y otros lugares. En el espíritu de la juncia, mi objetivo es ofrecer productos escultóricos, sostenibles y que resuelvan problemas.
Sedges (genus Carex) demonstrate that the overlooked or cast off can be meaningful and even restorative given the right context. Far from being worthless weeds, these persistent perennials thrive in many different environments without mowing, pesticides, or specialized care. Sedges help stop erosion and feed wildlife, and they exist in hundreds of varieties. Their beauty is understated, found in edgy long-green leaves and small but striking flowers.
In salvaging objects, I take Carex as my inspiration. I value things made to last and admire spare lines and small details. At Sedge Design I re-use, repurpose, and resell scraps, vintage remnants, and quality craftsmanship I find at estate sales and other venues. In the spirit of the sedge, I aim to offer sculptural, sustainable, and problem-solving goods.
