Bienvenido al estudio en Red Top Ranch. Red Top Ranch es el hogar del suroeste de Nebraska de una pequeña familia al aire libre, tres perros rescatados y un artista de fibra que se especializa en bufandas tejidas a mano y alfombras de trapo hechas a mano.

Alfombras de trapo hechas a mano:
Comencé a hacer alfombras de trapo hechas a mano como una forma de usar tela sobrante y no amada. Mientras estudiaba la fabricación de alfombras, se convirtió en una forma de aprender y preservar un arte desarrollado por mujeres que se las arreglaban reutilizando ropa y cortinas porque no tenían otros materiales disponibles. Respeto el arte y el talento de esas mujeres rurales que vivieron una vida dura y llena de deberes y, sin embargo, vieron y crearon belleza todos los días. Aspiro a su habilidad y valores usando el mismo estilo de patchwork en las mismas técnicas de trenzado, hermanamiento y enganche.

Welcome to the Studio at Red Top Ranch. Red Top Ranch is the southwestern Nebraska home of a small outdoorsy family, three rescued dogs and one fiber artist who specializes in hand knit scarves and handmade rag rugs.

Handmade Rag Rugs:
I began making handmade rag rugs as a way to use up leftover and unloved fabric. As I studied rugmaking, it became a way to learn and preserve an art developed by women who made-do by repurposing clothes and curtains because they had no other materials available. I respect the artistry and talent of those rural women who lived a hard, duty-filled life and yet saw and created beauty every day. I aspire to the their skill and values using the same patchwork style in the same braiding, twinning, and hooking techniques.
