From packaging to Etsy: A graphic designer's journey to rediscovering his artistic passion.
Ciao e benvenuto! Salam Khan qui. Sono sempre stato affascinato dall'arte perché ha la capacità di connettersi e comunicare senza parole. Da bambino ho iniziato a disegnare su qualsiasi mezzo su cui metto le mani. Questa passione mi ha portato a laurearmi in graphic design. Dopo la laurea ho pensato che mi sarebbe piaciuto lavorare perché avevo studiato ciò che amo di più, ma la mia cattiva sorte mi ha accompagnato a lavorare in un'azienda di imballaggi dove etichette, scatole, biglietti, cartellini e altri articoli di imballaggio sono stampati per diverse aziende. Nel 2016, mentre lavoravo, ho visto un'etichetta che aveva un link a un negozio etsy. Non sapevo cosa fosse etsy, quindi quando sono tornato a casa l'ho cercato e poi il resto è storia. Mi sono impegnato così tanto con questa piattaforma e l'artista interiore in me mi diceva continuamente di spingere i miei limiti e provarlo. Non è stata una decisione facile perché non avevo idea di gestire un negozio Etsy, quindi ho imparato fianco a fianco con il mio lavoro. Quando l'ho capito completamente, ho deciso di andare con il nome "Subtle Templates" per il mio negozio mal. Dato che lavoravo in un'azienda di imballaggi, avevo molte idee in mente e quindi ho deciso che avrei creato modelli per etichette e cartellini di diverse aziende. Il mio negozio ha anche kit di branding di varie aziende, carte e pacchetti che sono di grande aiuto per i proprietari di piccole imprese. Sto facendo del mio meglio per creare design unici per i miei clienti unici e sono molto soddisfatto dei buoni commenti dei miei preziosi clienti. Hello and welcome! Salam Khan here. I have always been fascinated with art because it has the ability to connect and communicate without any words. As a child I started to draw at any medium on which I get my hands on. This passion led me in getting my degree in graphic designing. After graduation I thought that I’ll enjoy working as I had studied what I love the most but my ill-fate accompanied me working in a packaging company where labels, boxes, cards, tags and other packaging items are printed for different businesses. In 2016, while working, I saw a label which had a link to an etsy store. I didn’t know what etsy was so when I came home I searched for it and then the rest is history. I got so engaged with this platform and the inner artist in me was telling me continuously to push my limits and give it a try. It was not an easy decision as I had no idea about running an Etsy store, therefore I learned side by side with my job. When I had completely understood about it, I decided to go with the name “Subtle Templates” for my store mal. Since I was working in packaging company, I had a lot of ideas in my mind and hence I decided that I’ll make templates for several businesses’ labels and tags. My store also has various businesses’ branding kits, cards and bundles which are of great help for small business owners. I am trying my best to come up with unique designs for my unique customers and I am very satisfied with the good comments from my valuable customers.
