Where it all began.
“What began as a passion in Porto, Portugal, quickly turned into something much bigger,” shares Daniel, our founder who has an appetite for creative challenges and a deep love for all things visual.
As he looked for unique ways to decorate his office, he stumbled upon mind-blowing topographic maps and 3D-printed city models, and with more curiosity than sense, the motion designer thought, "Why not make one for myself?"
Not long after, the personal project grew into a business. Now, it snowballed into something way bigger (and, admittedly, a bit out of control). With countless hours of trial and error, and some questionable decisions with 3D printers, the journey wasn’t smooth: turning raw topographic and LiDAR data into high-detail, 3D-printable models was way more complicated than it seemed.
Starting small, Daniel bought an entry-level 3D printer and quickly realized its tiny print bed was no match for the complex cityscapes he wanted to create. A year of trial and error later, he finally developed a scalable solution to bring even the most intricate cities to life. And when it came to the wooden frames, outsourcing the designs was way too expensive. So, like any true DIY-er, Daniel sourced local materials, bought some machinery, and turned a bedroom into a woodworking shop. (Yes, there was sawdust everywhere.)
