I paint the moment one color becomes another.
La maggior parte delle persone passa accanto a un tramonto e vede "arancione". Io vedo una dozzina di scelte: dove il rosso lascia il posto, dove l'oro prende il sopravvento, l'esatta fascia in cui i due colori si rifiutano di fondersi. Quel punto intermedio mi ha affascinato da sempre, ed è diventato il soggetto principale del mio lavoro.
Ogni opera che creo studia come due colori si incontrano. Li costruisco con sottili strati di acrilico su tela e lavoro la transizione a mano finché il cambiamento non appare più come pittura e più come luce. Alcuni passano dal cremisi al viola intenso. Altri si raffreddano dal verde acqua fino al color sabbia caldo. Do a ciascuna opera un nome che si riferisce al percorso che il colore compie, non a un oggetto a cui assomiglia, perché non c'è nessun oggetto. Il colore è il soggetto.

Most people walk past a sunset and see "orange." I see a dozen decisions: where the red lets go, where the gold takes over, the exact band where the two refuse to agree. That in-between has pulled at me for as long as I can remember, and it became the whole subject of my work.
Every piece I make studies how two colors meet. I build them in thin acrylic layers on canvas and work the transition by hand until the shift reads less like paint and more like light. Some move from crimson into deep violet. Others cool from teal down to warm sand. I name each one for the journey the color takes, not for any object it resembles, because there is no object. The color is the subject.

Each original is signed and arrives with a Certificate of Authenticity, because when you live with a piece for years, you deserve to know exactly what you own. Prints let you start with a color that speaks to you. Originals are one of a kind.
