Ciao, sono Taryn, la mente e il cuore dietro Bitty Bambu.
È iniziato come la maggior parte delle cose belle: in sordina, senza un piano preciso. Quando mia figlia era piccola, ho iniziato a cucirle vestiti, e da lì è nata quest'attività.
Bitty Bambu è un marchio artigianale di Maui, nelle Hawaii, dove le isole permeano ogni cosa. Le piante, l'oceano, i colori che si rivelano all'ora d'oro: tutto mi ispira a disegnare o a creare stampe che li celebrino. Molte di queste stampe sono disegnate da artisti hawaiani e sostenere questi creatori mi sembra la cosa giusta da fare.
Realizzo abiti da bambina, accessori per neonati e panni per il ruttino: ogni pezzo viene tagliato, cucito e rifinito qui nel nostro studio di Keokea.
La mia speranza è che un bambino che indossa qualcosa di Bitty Bambu possa percepire un po' di quella magia isolana. Quel tipo di magia che ti fa venire voglia di vagabondare, esplorare e scoprire cosa si nasconde dietro l'angolo.

Hi, I'm Taryn — the hands and heart behind Bitty Bambu.
It started the way most good things do: quietly, without a plan. When my daughter was small, I started sewing clothes for her, and this business evolved from there.
Bitty Bambu is handmade on Maui, Hawaii, where the islands have a way of working themselves into everything. The plants, the ocean, the colors that show up at golden hour — they all inspire me to draw or source prints that honor them. Many of those prints are designed by Hawaiian artists, and supporting those creators feels like exactly the right thing to do.
I make girls' dresses, baby accessories, and burp cloths — each one cut, sewn, and finished here in our Keokea studio.
My hope is that a child wearing something from Bitty Bambu feels a little bit of that island magic. The kind that makes you want to wander, explore, and see what's around the next corner.
