My world is built around plants, texture and quiet botanics
I grew up in my grandmother’s garden — a place full of petals, scents and shapes. That’s where I first learned to see structure in nature, not just beauty. It stayed with me.
For years I tried to make my way into the Arts Academy, building a portfolio and studying tirelessly, but life unfolded differently. I finished a BA in Economics, worked in a bank and felt myself fading in a world that wasn’t mine.
I kept coming back to plants. To floristics. To creating with my hands. Eventually I left the bank and chose the path that felt alive. It wasn’t easy, but it was right. The world suddenly became green again — full of seasons, textures, branches, cones and all the natural materials I now work with every day.
My work is botanical at its core.
I use natural materials, many of which I grow in my own garden. I collect cones and branches on forest walks with my family (they help me carry half the forest home). Every ornament, wreath or botanical piece is built from what nature gives through the year — from autumn spices to winter greenery.
“Kalėda” is my botanical studio – a quiet, seasonal world where I turn natural textures into decorative pieces for the holidays. My goal is simple: to bring warmth, authenticity and a touch of the forest into your home.
Warm wishes,
Vaida
