I’m Tania Wojciechowski, the maker and designer behind manusmade. The name comes from the Latin word manus, meaning “hand”. For thousands of years, people have created and designed with their hands, and I believe that is worth honoring in both traditional and modern, playful ways.
I'm a Gen-Xer with a lifelong love for both making things and clever wordplay - creativity has always been my compass. My earliest days were spent sewing without a pattern and now my current passion is rug hooking and punch needle. While my crafting obsessions have changed over the years, I've always love a good pun and play on words.
You’ll see both texture — the nubby feel of linen, the cozy scratch of wool — and text — puns, wordplay, and cheeky humor, woven throughout my work, all tied together with a dash of nostalgia. Why shouldn’t a tea towel make you smile? Why can’t a hooked rug be both art and comfort? Why can't a t-shirt make you pine for the 80s? My shop is a space where craft meets modern but sentimental living.
